About The Course

The new OSHA Compliance Self-Study Course provides students with a comprehensive tutorial on the legal requirements of occupational safety and health law-all under one cover using the acclaimed LAYERTM (Learn at Your Effective Rate) approach to independent learning. Based on Government Institutes' popular Occupational Safety and Health Law Handbook, which combines the expertise and insights of 17 of the top OSHA compliance authorities in the nation, the self-study course provides safety and human resource professionals with reliable and practical information. Using a minimum of legal jargon, the course provides interpretations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act's key aspects, reviews the major regulations and standards protecting worker health and safety, and offers useful advice for dealing with regulatory authorities. In 15 lessons, students cover such important topics as the General Duty Clause, Recordkeeping Requirements, Hazard Communcation, Self-Auditing, Preparing for Inspections, and Contesting Citations and Penalties. Also examined are Employers' and Employees' Rights; Whistleblower Protection; Enforcement Actions; Imminent Danger Inspections, and State Plans. The course includes the entire text of the Occupational Safety and Health Act for reference.

Students who successfully complete the Master Exam at the conlusion of the course, earn continuing education credits and a Certificate of Achievement from RTI and ABS Consulting/Government Institutes.
